Laser and Refractive Surgery

In the last 25 years, more than 100.000 eyes underwent laser vision correction at the University Eye Hospital “Svjetlost”  in Zagreb, and another 20 000 eyes in the other five Clinics (Split, Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Budva). 

Svjetlost Eye Clinic has 2 Schwind Amaris 1050RS, Schwind Atos, 6 Wavelight Allegretto excimer laser and 2 Abbot iFS 150kHz femtosecond laser and is performing all methods of laser eye surgery including so-called ALL LASER LASIK and lenticule extraction (SmartSight Method). Laser vision correction is performed by 12 doctors. 

Our 11 doctors and 10 nurses have also undergone this surgery, including our leading refractive surgeons professor Nikica Gabrić, PhD and Assistant professor Maja Bohač, PhD, MD. 

For patients who are not good candidates for laser vision correction due to a too high diopter, possibility of intraocular lenses (ICL) implantation is available. Our refractive surgeons are permanent lecturers and instructors at the most prestigious European Congresses of Ophthalmology and educators in the field of refractive surgery (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Kosovo).
